About

After living in Manhattan in a closet-sized, pigeon infested, shoebox-esque apartment for the past year,  I had an epiphany that I had to act on immediately; I belong in Brooklyn. As soon as my seemingly endless lease expired, I fled over the bridge to Brooklyn Heights. Here, I share with you my experience leaving the Manhattan life and becoming Brooklyn.

    Talk about dichotomy!

    1. Your name is Caitlin. You obviously belong in Brooklyn.

    2. So I found this blog b/c of your arthouse collection post. I was at the brooklyn flea yesterday, and purchased a beautiful piece from them (like you said, for cheap), but I can’t find anything about the artist or, for that matter, arthouse collection online. You gots any info?

    Hi Bezalel,

    Thanks for your comment.

    1. I definitely belong in Brooklyn, but how does being named Caitlin connect?

    2. The artist seems to be very private– as there really isn’t much info about her out there. BUT, I did speak with her at Brooklyn Flea and she gave me this email, arthouseny@gmail.com, to direct my questions to. I’d give it a try!

    Happy to have you reading!

    Hi Caitlin,

I just discovered your blog because we both seem to have a lover for Seersucker. My husband convinced me to move from Manhattan to Brooklyn 10 years ago and we started out in Brooklyn Heights also. Glad to see you’re enjoying it so much and finding all the good food and everything else that Brooklyn has to offer!

And I mean to say a LOVE for Seersucker. Not a LOVER. Ha!

Hi Lia! So happy to hear from another Manhattanite turned Brooklynite! Even though Lover was a typo– sometimes I wish Seersucker was my lover. haha. It’s SO good! Are you still in Brooklyn Heights?

Sergey sent me to your blog – it’s cool, I like it. Keep posting.
Let’s hang out. Without Geordie this time. Or with Geordie. Either way. 🙂
    Cheers
